1. Information We Collect
Restaurant Owners: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google. When you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe — we do not store your credit card details.
Customers (queue participants): When you join a queue, we collect your first name, party size, seating preference, and approximate location (to verify you are near the restaurant). We do not require an account, email address, or phone number.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the QueueUp service
- To notify customers when their table is ready
- To verify customers are physically near the restaurant (geofence)
- To process subscription payments via Stripe
- To send service-related communications (account verification, billing)
3. Data Retention
Queue entries are transient and are automatically removed when a restaurant is deleted. Customer names and location data from queue entries are not used for marketing or shared with third parties. Owner account data is retained as long as the account is active.
4. Third-Party Services
- Stripe: Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Firebase (Google): Authentication for Google Sign-In and push notifications.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: CAPTCHA verification to prevent abuse.
- Railway: Cloud infrastructure hosting.
5. Location Data
We use your device's location solely to verify you are near a restaurant when joining a queue. Location data is checked once at the time of joining and is not tracked, stored long-term, or shared. You can disable location access in your device settings, though some restaurants may require it to join their queue.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to maintain your login session. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and secure token-based authentication. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers.
8. Your Rights
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at support@thequeueup.com. Restaurant owners can delete their restaurants at any time, which permanently removes all associated queue data.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
